New Works

Twenty9

This abstraction was completed on a very special day - my son’s 29th Birthday! Needless to say, this work, will always hold an extra special place in my heart. :))

A continuation of my geometric leanings, that are apparent in all my works,. This piece features Interesting shapes, and a harmonizing colour palette, that invites you in for a journey of exploration, and emotion.

Enjoy!

Highways & Byways

A mid sized abstraction, framed in a clear coat, wood floater frame.  Lots happening in this piece that features mixed media, collage, loads of textural differences, and no shortage of interest!

It reflects my thoughts on life's journey. The many twists and turns, highways and byways that we encounter throughout the years. Some are straight forward, others throw us curves. Always interesting!

We 3

A mid sized semi-abstraction, framed in a clear coat, wood floater frame.  Every piece of art has a mind of its own, and it's always better to let it lead the way.  After a long struggle of me trying to be the director...I finally surrendered to following my muse! ;). This is when the magic of art can really occur. I was determined it would be a non-representational piece...but I am happy with where we ended up.  Another work that features surface interest, and shape. It continues to draw me back in to discover even more nuances that make this piece very unique.  May this piece pique your curiosity!

Nestled In

While walking about a West Kootenay neighbourhood looking for inspiration - a fortunate sideways glance was the starting point for this piece.

A beautiful summer morning, with the sun creating interesting shadows and shapes. I was struck by how these vintage homes and yards were literally shoehorned into the block. Yet it seemed each home had “all it really needed”. Regardless of size of structure or physical space. The joy of living without excess was evident.

I hope the feelings of happiness and lightheartedness within this painting will be shared with you, the viewer.
